IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

From November 20, 2015, biometric data (i.e. fingerprints) must be collected for all those applying for a  Schengen "C" visa.

The attendance of all applicants is therefore mandatory.

The following applicants shall be exempt from the requirement to give fingerprints:

  • Children under 12 years of age.
  • Those for whom fingerprinting is physically impossible.
  • Other categories in accordance with Article 13(7) of Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament, Visa Code:

  • Subsequent visa requests within 59 months do not require further fingerprinting.

If you do need a visa, and you live in England or Wales, you can apply in person only by prior appointment either directly with the Consulate General of Italy in London (click here) (for all types of visas) or with the VFS Centres (click here) in London, Manchester and Cardiff (for tourism and business visas only).
