Transfer from a British to an Italian school

Those who intend to return to Italy, and whose children have completed one or more years in a school which follows the British system (wherever in the world it is situated),without having attained school leaving certificates (for example GCSEs, A or AS Levels etc.) can request a consular certificate called “attestazione consolare” which is issued by the Qualifications Office.

To this end please submit the following documentation:

1. this form (click here for PDF format, click here for DOC format), duly completed and signed by the parent or by the student (if he/she is at least 15 years of age and has a valid ID card or passport);
2. original letter (on headed paper) issued by the British school written along the lines of this "Guidelines..." file (click here for PDF format, click here for DOC format). Please note that the letter must be requested only at the end of the school year and not before;
3. translation into Italian of the letter (for an example of translation please see page 2 of the "Guidelines..." file);
4. photocopy of the ID card or passport of the child and/or of the parent requesting the "attestazione", if applicable;
5. an SAE for the return of the “attestazione”.

All correspondence for the Schools and Qualifications Office should be sent to the following address:

Ufficio Scuole-Titoli di studio
Consulate General of Italy
"Harp House", 83/86 Farringdon Street, EC4A 4BL London

Please note that for those schools which follow the IB (International Baccalaureate) programme, you need to contact the Consulate General of Italy in Geneva:
