2. please attach your valid ID;
 
3. attach your ‘final and absolute’ decree of divorce in original (not photocopies), completed with the wording "I certify that this is a true copy of the original document filed with this Court" dated and signed (by District Judge); your decree of divorce must be translated in Italian (please click here for a List of Certified Translators); THIS CONSULATE DOES NOT PERFORM TRANSLATIONS
 
4. please also attach ‘agreement for children’ (only if there are children under 18); ‘agreement for children’ must also be in original (not photocopies), completed with the wording "I certify that this is a true copy of the original document filed with this Court" dated and signed (by District Judge); if there was no ''agreement for children'', you must obtain and submit a statement certifying that the Court had no intervention in the children agreement; it must be translated in Italian (please click here for a List of Certified Translatorsplease click here for a List of Certified Translators); THIS CONSULATE DOES NOT PERFORM TRANSLATIONS
 
5. attach CERTIFICATE REFERRED TO IN ARTICLE 39 OF COUNCIL REGULATION (EC) No. 2201/2003 ON 27.211.2003 (please click here to download form); this document must be filled in, dated, signed and sealed by the Court)
 
6. please attach also ‘ackowledgement of service’ (only if the judgement was given in default of appearance of the ‘Respodent’); this document must also be in original completed with the wording "I certify that this is a true copy of the original document filed with this Court" dated and signed (by District Judge); it must be translated in Italian (please click here for a List of Certified Translators); THIS CONSULATE DOES NOT PERFORM TRANSLATIONS
 
Please also be informed that in case of a British divorce decree issued before 09.03.2001, you need to submit, along with documents (2-3-4-5-6), also a ‘’DECREE NISI DISSOLUTION’’, in original, completed with a translation in Italian (click here for a List of certified Translators) and the the above-mentioned wording by the Court
 
IMPORTANT : ALL THE ABOVE SPECIFIED DOCUMENT DO NOT NEED TO BE LEGALISED BY ‘’APOSTILLE’’

Please be informed that in case of incorrect or incomplete documentation, your application will not be processed.
 
IMPORTANT : please be informed also that in case of a divorce occurring in a foreign country other than the United Kingdom, you must obtain a proper legalisation and translation for your divorce decree. Said legalisation and translation can be provided only by the  appropriate Italian Consulate or Embassy located in the relevant country (for instance : Bangladesh - Embassy of Italy in Dhaka).

If the documentation is complete and correct and the application can be processed, please be aware that ORIGINAL certificates will not be returned.

NOTICE: please be informed that in case of incomplete or incorrect documentation, your divorce decree registration will not be processed. This Consulate General shall return the documentation to those who will have included a pre-stamped self-addressed envelope (Special Delivery) in the application, as mentioned above.
