What is self-certification?
It is a declaration the person concerned writes and signes in his/her own interest regarding personal details and facts which s/he uses in his/her dealing with the Public Administration or providers of public services.
In dealing with a private person, acceptance of self-certification is at the latter’s discretion. The declaration may replace normal certificates and affidavits/statutory declarations.
The coming into force of Presidential Decree no. 445 of 28 December 2004 has implied an administrative simplification to reform the Public Administration so as to make it more efficient and transparent.
