Italian nationals residing in England, Wales and in the Islands can:
a) vote for the candidates that run in the United Kingdom, their country of residence;
or alternatively, if they are registered with the AIRE office [1]
b) vote for the canditates that run in Italy, their country of origin
In the first case (a), Italian nationals will need to register at the relevant Town Hall by 6th May 2014 by completing the form made available by the “Registration Office”:

They will vote on Thursday 22nd May. Those who within the time specified by the Town Halls have enrolled in the British electoral lists and have opted to vote in the United Kingdom, will need to sign a declaration whereby they undertake not to vote in Italy.
In the second case (b), they will vote for the Italian candidates at the electoral polls set up specifically by this Consulate General, on Friday 23rd May and Saturday 24th May, to be announced by the Consulate General.
2. ITALIAN NATIONALS NOT REGISTERED WITH THE AIRE OFFICE BECAUSE THEY ARE TEMPORARILY IN ENGLAND/WALES/ISLANDS FOR STUDY OR EMPLOYMENT REASONS AND THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS LIVING WITH THEM
Italian nationals not registered with the AIRE office, temporarily in England/Wales and Islands for study or employment reasons and their family members living with them, can vote for the Italian candidates provided they submit (also by post, fax or email) a specific request to the Consulate General of Italy in London by 6th March 2014.
If they do not submit their request within this date, they will need to vote in Italy (art. 3, subparagraph 6 of Legislative Decree 408/1994).

Italian nationals temporarily in the consular district who submit their requests will need to send the following documents:
1. Request form (Annexe 1 – click here)
2. A photocopy of an Italian ID (passport or identity card)
3. A document proving that they are here for study and/or employment reasons. For example, for university students a copy of their student card issue by the British university or a statement issued by them will suffice. For those who work, a copy of an employment contract or a declaration by their employer. If you are unable to produce this document, you can send a declaration (Annexe 2 – click here).
Please note that documents sent by email and scanned documents will need to be signed.
