Those in the UK on a Tourist Visa, Student visa or WHV (working holiday visa), will NOT be able to apply for Italian citizenship at this Consulate General.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/conslondra.esteri.it\/en\/chi-siamo\/la-sede\/modulistica\/modulistica-cittadinanza\/\">Declaration of past countries of residence for the ancestors<\/a>;\n<p><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Documents concerning the AVO DANTE CAUSA \u2013 GRANDPARENT or PARENT BORN IN ITALY:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>Birth certificate<\/u><\/strong><strong>: to be requested to the Italian Municipality of birth of the ancestor, in original<\/strong> (called \u201cEstratto per riassunto dell\u2019atto di nascita\u201d or \u201cCopia conforme dell\u2019atto integrale di nascita\u201d).<br \/>\nPlease note that if the ancestor was born before the Italian Municipality of birth established a Registry Office, the applicant must submit the original Baptism Certificate, signed and stamped by the church and the Curia Vescovile (diocesan curia).<br \/>\nIn addition, the applicant must produce a letter issued by the Italian Municipality, stating the year of establishment of their Registry Office, and confirming that they do not retain any information on the Italian ancestor.<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Registry Office certificates<\/u><\/strong><strong> \u2013 marriage, if applicable divorce and second marriage, death.<br \/>\n<\/strong>Italian certificates must be submitted in original, issued by the competent Italian Municipality.<br \/>\nOther foreign certificates must be submitted in original, long form, issued by the competent local authority, duly legalised by apostille and translated into Italian ( <a href=\"https:\/\/conslondra.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-straniero\/cittadinanza\/cittadinanza-per-discendenza\/legalizzazione-e-traduzione-dei-certificati\/\">Legalisation and translation of certificates<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li><strong><u>Declarations of Negative Naturalisation<\/u><\/strong><strong>, issued by the country where the avo dante causa first migrated abroad. <\/strong><br \/>\nSaid declaration must be submitted in original, duly legalised by apostille and translated into Italian ( <a href=\"https:\/\/conslondra.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-straniero\/cittadinanza\/cittadinanza-per-discendenza\/legalizzazione-e-traduzione-dei-certificati\/\">Legalisation and translation of certificates<\/a>)<br \/>\nWe kindly recommend to request said certificate with the full correct details of the ancestor (e.g. full name and surname, any other name\/surname, date and place of birth and death).<br \/>\nIf the Italian ancestor last born in Italy lived in several countries (for example: Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela), the applicant must submit the declarations of negative naturalization for all these countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong>Documents concerning the NEXT DESCENDANT BORN ABROAD: <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><u>Registry Office certificates<\/u><\/strong><strong> \u2013 full birth certificate (long form), marriage, if applicable divorce and second marriage, death. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Italian certificates must be submitted in original, issued by the competent Italian Municipality.<\/p>\n<p>Other foreign certificates must be submitted in original, long form, issued by the competent local authority, duly legalised by apostille and translated into Italian (<a href=\"https:\/\/conslondra.esteri.it\/en\/servizi-consolari-e-visti\/servizi-per-il-cittadino-straniero\/cittadinanza\/cittadinanza-per-discendenza\/legalizzazione-e-traduzione-dei-certificati\/\">Legalisation and translation of certificates<\/a>)<br \/>\n<strong>NB<\/strong>: Details reported on the birth certificates must be consistent with the marital status of the parents. This means that, if at the time of birth the parents of the child were not married, the birth certificate must bear the signature of both parents as &#8220;informant&#8221;.
