{"id":18866,"date":"2026-06-16T15:53:04","date_gmt":"2026-06-16T13:53:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/conslondra.esteri.it\/?p=18866"},"modified":"2026-06-16T16:46:53","modified_gmt":"2026-06-16T14:46:53","slug":"possibilita-di-richiesta-della-carta-didentita-elettronica-presso-i-comuni-italiani-anche-per-i-cittadini-iscritti-allaire-a-partire-dal-1-giugno-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/conslondra.esteri.it\/en\/news\/dal_consolato\/2026\/06\/possibilita-di-richiesta-della-carta-didentita-elettronica-presso-i-comuni-italiani-anche-per-i-cittadini-iscritti-allaire-a-partire-dal-1-giugno-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"Citizens registered with AIRE may also apply for an Electronic Identity Card (CIE) at Italian municipalities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"28\" data-end=\"373\">Following the entry into force of Law No. 11 of 19 January 2026, Italian citizens registered in the Registry of Italians Residing Abroad (AIRE) will, <strong>starting from 1 June 2026, be able to apply for the issuance of an Electronic Identity Card (CIE) at any Italian municipality, and not exclusively through the Consular Office.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"375\" data-end=\"595\">AIRE-registered residents abroad may book an appointment through the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.prenotazionicie.interno.gov.it\/cittadino\/n\/sc\/wizardAppuntamentoCittadino\/sceltaComune\">Ministry of the Interior\u2019s appointment platform<\/a><\/strong>, or they may apply in person without an appointment where the relevant municipality allows this option.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"597\" data-end=\"779\">The Electronic Identity Card will be issued according to the same procedures established for applications submitted through Consular Offices. In particular, applicants may choose to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"781\" data-end=\"935\">\n<li data-section-id=\"3h677h\" data-start=\"781\" data-end=\"870\">collect the CIE in person from the municipality where the application was submitted; or<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"16qbkui\" data-start=\"871\" data-end=\"935\">request that it be mailed abroad to their residential address.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"937\" data-end=\"1022\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">For further information, applicants are invited to contact the relevant municipality.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Following the entry into force of Law No. 11 of 19 January 2026, Italian citizens registered in the Registry of Italians Residing Abroad (AIRE) will, starting from 1 June 2026, be able to apply for the issuance of an Electronic Identity Card (CIE) at any Italian municipality, and not exclusively through the Consular Office.
