Citizenship certificate

This office can issue a citizenship certificate confirming how and when applicants have acquired Italian nationality.

In order to submit their request, applicants will need to email us directly (cittadinanza.londra@esteri.it), by attaching this form duly filled in and signed.

Following the necessary background checks to be conducted with the authority where applicants have obtained Italian nationality, we will allocate them an appointment to come and collect the certificate at our office.

On the day of the appointment, applicants must submit their own Italian passport or ID card in original, and of a British debit card to cover the cost of the certificate (art. 4a consular fees – other payment methods will not be accepted).

In case of an emergency, applicants can delegate a member of their inner family to collect their citizenship certificate, who will have to submit this form signed by the applicant, copy of the Italian passport or ID card of the applicant, and their own valid passport in original.
