Reports of Facts or Events, Formal Complaints, Criminal Complaints, and Withdrawal of Complaints

You may submit reports of facts or events that occurred in Italy or are relevant to Italy, as well as formal complaints (Esposti) and criminal complaints (Querele). It is also possible to withdraw a previously filed criminal complaint by submitting a deed of withdrawal (Remissione di querela).

How to Book an Appointment and Service Fees

Applicants must request an appointment by emailing notarile.londra@esteri.it

The request email must include:

  1. A scanned copy of a valid identity document.
  2. The text you wish to submit, in an editable format (e.g. Microsoft Word), fully completed in Italian but not signed. For reports concerning general matters, applicants may complete the Generic Report Form themselves. For more complex reports, formal complaints (esposti), criminal complaints (querele), and withdrawals of criminal complaints, the text must be drafted by a lawyer. A non-exhaustive list of legal professionals known to the Consulate is available on the relevant webpage.
  3. The certified email (PEC) address of the Italian authority (Police Headquarters, Police Station, or Public Prosecutor’s Office) to which you wish the scanned copy of the completed document to be sent once the procedure has been completed. PEC addresses can usually be found on the respective offices’ official websites.

Any supporting documents in image format (PDF, JPEG, JPG, etc.), video, or audio files should not be sent by email in advance. It is sufficient to mention them in the text of the report, complaint, or withdrawal. They should then be sent by the applicant on a USB drive, using a private courier service, directly to the relevant Police Headquarters (Questura), Police Station (Commisariato), or Public Prosecutor’s Office (Procura della Repubblica).

Once the request has been reviewed and accepted, the Office will reply by offering an appointment at the Consulate.

During the appointment: Your signature on the report, complaint, or withdrawal document will be notarized You will sign an official record acknowledging receipt of the document.
