How to book an appointment for a passport

In order to book an appointment to request a passport at the Consulate General in London, presupposes as a requirement that the Italian citizen is regularly registered in the London AIRE catchment area (Registry of Italians Resident Abroad).

1. Through the Prenot@MI portal: you need to have an account (otherwise you create it) in order to book an appointment. You have to use your exactly personal details when you create an account. This portal is reserved for adult citizens only, while minors will be linked with the parent/guardian’s account, like “Additional applicant’s data” in a “Multiple booking”. 2. Through the CALL CENTRE: you need to create a Prenot@MI account (unless you already have one) before you call. The number to call is 020 3327 6290. The Call Centre is open from Monday to Friday between 08.15 to 12.30. We advise you to call as soon as the lines open and take advantage of the call back service. Standard call charges from landlines or mobiles apply depending on your network service provider. There are no additional costs. 3. Through the Honorary Consular Offices (Bedford, Bristol, Cardiff and Peterborough): click here for further information. PLEASE NOTE: this service is only for collection of the applicant’s biometric data and submitting the documentation. Furthermore, the applicants must be registered in the AIRE within the London consular district. The passport will not be issued immediately but it will posted to the address provided on the envelope, within 10 weeks.

 

4. Through the Patronati (ACLI, INAS-CISL, INCA–CGIL e ITAL-UIL): the service is free. Check our website to book and appointment on the calendar. PLEASE NOTE: this service is only for collection of the applicant’s biometric data and submitting the documentation. Furthermore, the applicants must be registered in the AIRE within the London consular district. The passport will not be issued immediately but it will posted to the address provided on the envelope, within 10 weeks.

 

5. AD HOC ROUTES – NO APPOINTMENT: Please check in advance if you qualify for it.

  • MUMS-TO-BE for pregnant women from Monday to Friday between 09.00 and 12.00;
  • SILVER DAY for over 70s, from Monday to Friday between 09.00 and 12.00;
  • DISABLED from Monday to Friday between 09.00 and 12.00;
  • MINORS AGED 0 TO 11: on Monday, Tuesday or Thursday between 15.00 and 16.00, only for photo/signature authentication service. Postal procedure;
  • MINORS AGED 12 TO 17: on Wednesday and Friday between 15.00 and 16.00.
  • EMERGENCY SITUATIONS: only for proven health or work-related reasons.

 

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE

ACCOUNT PRENOT@MI. Following the opening of the Manchester Consulate, all Italian nationals residing in the Manchester district who already have a Prenot@mi account and are registered at the General Consulate of Italy in London, will have to click on the option “Change location” and select “United Kingdom – Consulate of Italy in Manchester”. Those who do not have a Prenot@mi account will have to register on the portal and select “United Kingdom – Consulate of italy in Manchester”.
